The Gift of Salvation (WDGS?)

Did He Die For... Me?  What Does God Say?

"How can what Jesus of Nazareth did over 2,000 years ago have anything to do with me?"
"Why did He die for me?"
"How do we know that Jesus was who He claimed to be?"
"I am ashamed of some things I have done in my life; how can I come to Jesus with my sins?"
"Isn't it too late for me?"
 "How can God love me?"
"Why do I need to think about this stuff?  I don't want to."

In His Word, the Bible, God Gives Us the Answers to These Questions

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His is only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

NKJV John 3: 16

"Jesus answered and said to him, Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."  NKJV John 3: 3

"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock.  If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.  To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne."  KJV Rev 3: 20-21

"Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No man comes to the Father except through me."

NKJV John 14: 6

"And let him who thirsts come.  Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely."  NKJV Rev 22: 17

God loves you much more than you could ever know.  You are His much loved child.  Our Father in Heaven sent His only Son to die for your sins so that you might be saved.  Jesus paid the penalty for our sins so that we might be in heaven, if we choose Him, with God for all eternity.

Whether or not you believe in God, He exists and is very active in our world as well as in your life.  God knew that we could not live a perfect, sinless life, so He made a way for us to be in His family in heaven.  That way was Jesus.  Jesus paid the price for our sins on the cross, and because of His sacrifice, if we believe in Him and ask Him for forgiveness, our sins are forgiven.  That's what Jesus' crucifixion means to us today, and forever.

Jesus voluntarily gave Himself for us.  No one made Him do this.  He did it for us because He loves us.  He left His heavenly throne, became a man, then became our High Priest, Teacher, Shepherd, and our Savior.  He died for our sins because it was the only way for us to enter into heaven and stand before the Father without sin.  The Word says that at the end of time, every knee will bend and every lip confess that He, Jesus is Lord.

If you know Him, in a personal and intimate way, He has everlasting love, joy, hope, and peace for you in His kingdom.  If you choose to accept what He has done for you, if you name the name of Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord, the He will come into your heart and save you from hell.

The Bible proves to us by prophesy that Jesus Christ is our Savior.  No matter what people tell you, God tells us that we need Him, Jesus our Savior.  The Father sent the Son to free us from death.

You need to consider these things because the decision to believe in Jesus Christ is the single most important decision you will ever make in your life.  It will determine where you will spend eternity.  He is calling you to Him and wants to save you.  Now you must decide..."What will you do with Jesus?"

Most of us believe that our souls live on after death- that means 'we' are going to go somewhere.  God says in His word that by your choice you will go to where He is, that's in heaven, or where He isn't, that's hell.  We might have a theory about the afterlife, but the truth is that God is in charge of this life and the 'after-life'.  Our 'theories' about eternity do not determine our future.  If they did, that would make us gods, right?  The Bible says that either you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and are going to be with God in heaven, or you reject Jesus Christ and you will be going to hell.  If you don't know Him, there will never be a better time than right this very minute to ask Him to come into your life and offer you salvation- a chance to be in heaven with God for all eternity.

If you don't have a personal relationship with God, today is the day to change your life for all eternity!  Jesus Christ has been waiting for you to accept Him so that He can bring you to heaven with the Father and the Holy Spirit.  No one goes to the Father except by Jesus the Son.  To accept Jesus Christ now, pray this prayer from your heart and mean it, and He will come into your life and your heart:

"Jesus, I admit that I am a sinner and I need you and your forgiveness.  Please come into my life and heart.  I need your grace Lord.  I believe that you are the Son of God and that you are my Savior.  Please save me Jesus!  Thank You.  Amen."

Disclaimer:  These writings are not intended to be comprehensive by any means- there are tons of references that apply to the topics at hand.  I have included those Bible verses that God has put on my heart on these topics.  The 'What Does God Say (WDGS)' writings are meant to help us understand, through God's Word, things in our lives that are challenging, controversial, or are from Satan for the expressed purpose of confusing us, drawing us to popular or 'politically correct' positions, and leading us away from God.  The deceiver doesn't have to work too hard at this because peer pressure and persecution against anyone expressing/living what God says are well established in the world; a world that is at enmity with God.  I encourage you to read the sections in the Bible where references are pulled from; the context of each verse is important in understanding the content of the message.  The intent here is not to have a Bible study on each verse, although that would be great, but rather to draw you to His Word to help us make 'sense' of these challenging topics, to understand Him, His kingdom, where we fit in, what we should be about, how we live, who we are, and what God says we should believe.  God wants and needs us to be interactive, thinking beings searching for truth and applying it where ever we go and to whatever we do.  That's life in Christ Jesus!
